I am a visual artist now living in Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island.
Originally from the Maritimes, in 1967 I moved with my husband and family to Prince George, where for many years I enjoyed a very successful career as an artist. While living in Prince George, I attended the College of New Caledonia, receiving my diploma in Fine Arts in 1986.
My work has been accepted in many juried shows, including Images and Objects, Federation of Canadian Artists Vancouver and Nanaimo, and the Sidney Fine Art Show.
In 1990, the six Milltown Artists, of which I was a member, were commissioned to travel, sketch and paint remote portions of the Alexander Mackenzie Trail as it is today. We were flown in to some locations; others had to be accessed by hiking over rough trails. In 1993, our finished paintings were displayed in Prince George Gallery, Quesnel Gallery, 100 Mile House, Bella Coola, and the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria.
Subject matter varies for me and I work in various media. At present I am working with brightly coloured Acrylics using lots of thick juicy paint, on canvas. I would consider my work to be expressionistic and contemporary.
