Born in Quebec, Victoria Macfarlane currently resides on Protection Island, off the coast of Vancouver Island. Victoria has a doctorate in psychology, and works as a consultant in Canada, U.S. and Belize, Central America. She has been drawing and painting all of her life. She has taken life drawing and art history courses at university, as well as painting courses from local artists in Ontario, West Vancouver, Salt Spring Island, and Protection Island. She lives part of the year in Belize, where she captures many of the images for her work. She paints in acrylic on canvas, and most of her paintings are of people alone or engaged in casual interaction with vibrant Caribbean colours in the background. Victoria has recently begun to exhibit her work in Canada and in Belize, and is an Active Status member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
