Vida is an artist who recently retired to Vancouver Island having spent most of her working life in England as a schoolteacher. Vida majored in art at her Cambridge University College when studying education and for many years was involved in organising art classes, festivals, exhibitions and planning the curriculum for the children’s work. Professional development included art courses at Hull University and Grimsby Art College.

Vida is thrilled now to have the time to develop her own artwork and enjoys working in a variety of media. The West Coast has become a real inspiration and she loves to work “ au plein air” whenever possible. Vida has also continued her education taking B.A. classes in fine art at Cariboo University College, Kamloops, and Malaspina University College here in Nanaimo.

Vida enjoys sharing her love of art and has given many workshops to the Nanaimo art clubs and her work has received awards from the local Art’s council.  Vida’s paintings are collected both here and abroad  and are regularly exhibited at “The Dancing Goat” in the North End Mall.
