LANGUAGE OF ABSTRATION
This workshop will focus on developing a visual abstract language and creating a framework to build exciting and expressive abstract landscapes and non-representational abstract works. Colour, composition, line work, light and texture will all be explored with experimentation and proven techniques. A special emphasis will be given to developing “your” unique approach. You will enjoy new and exciting avenues to developing abstract paintings or incorporating these techniques into your own style of work.

Supply List
BRUSHES
a wide variety of shapes and sizes. (optional) some 3" or 4" house painting brushes (Flat)
PAINTS
a wide variety of acrylic paint colours. Colours you like to use.
PAPER
8-12 sheets of watercolour paper or any type that will accept acrylic paints. I use Strathmore watercolour pad. 18"x24" approx.; drawing board to tape watercolour paper on.
CANVAS
2 or 3 Approx. 2'x3' or 3'x3'
CHARCOAL PENCILS
soft or charcoal sticks or soft pastels
SPRAY FIXITIF
or Hairspray (smells less offensive)
PLUS:
-rags
-1 roll of masking tape (optional)
-Mediums - Gloss or matte or Gels
