Artist Bio:

I am a landscape artist working primarily in acrylic. Growing up on the west coast of British Columbia nurtured my love of the forest and ocean. As a child I could be found building forts in giant tree stumps or exploring the forests around me. After being introduced to the paintings of Emily Carr as a young girl, my love affair with trees only grew deeper.

While drawing and pottery continued to feed my creativity, it was after a move to the Sunshine Coast of BC where I really started to explore painting, while attending many workshops given by local artists I continued to define myself as a painter.

After retiring from a fulfilling career in office administration in 2014 I had time to pursue my passion. I have been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists-Active member since 2021. As a member I have participated in many shows at the Granville Island Gallery as well as a member of the Victoria Chapter of the FCA.

My art has been shown in the Sooke Fine Arts Show and Arts and Culture Colwood shows

Between sessions in my studio, I enjoy running or hiking, and cycling. I recently relocated to Nanaimo from Sooke and I am very much looking forward to this next chapter whatever it brings.

Artist Statement:

I see art in nature and it is here where I find endless inspiration.
I love the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, then recreating that feeling on canvas enjoying the experience once again.
