ALL ABOUT KLIMT
JUDITH MADSEN & THE GROUP OF SEVERAL
“I plan to do a talk about The Group of Several and our process in choosing, researching, painting and framing the two Klimt paintings we chose. We will bring at least one of them. I will be bringing our slides to show.
The two 4 x 6 works are: Mrs Adele Bloch Bauer, "The Woman in Gold"
"Medicine" which I’ve taken to calling the woman in red. The original was destroyed in a fire.
What I’ve learned is that this was the emerging era (1900 to 1918) of Expressionism. Klimt travelled very little, worked very long daily painting hours and was recognized and despised equally. Troubled times yet brilliant times prior to WW1. “
