Artists eagerly search for exhibition venues in Nanaimo and this year we are in luck. Holy Trinity Catholic Church will open its 3,500 square-foot hall to hold a two-day Fine Art and Artisan Show on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October. Show Location: Holy Trinity Church, 6234, Spartan Road, Nanaimo, V9T 2N9
There are spaces for 28 artists, e.g. painters, potters, photographers, fabric artists, jewelers, woodcarvers and sculptors are welcome to apply. A limited number of display tables are available: 16 – 8-foot wood tables, 8 – 6-foot Costco tables. Artists are responsible for their own displays and sales.
If we receive more entries than our space can accommodate, selection will be made on a first come basis for each art category. All artists will be notified of the results as soon as possible after the closing date. Accepted artists will receive a further letter with helpful information. Declined artists may opt to be added to a wait list.
Accepted artists are required to pay an entrance fee of $75 prior to September 1st. There will be no refund if an accepted artist withdraws from the show, unless the space can be filled from the wait list. Any refund will be paid after the show.
Submission fee payments can be made via the following methods & must arrive prior to September 1st:
· Over the phone (250-390-2612) with a credit card: Please email Holy Trinity main office to request payment by phone: (Tues-Fri, 10:00 am – 1:30 pm). (Visa or Mastercard accepted).
· E-Transfer to holytrinity@rcdvictoria.org
· Cheque payable to Holy Trinity Catholic Church
· Mail in or Hand Deliver to the mail slot at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 6234, Spartan Road, Nanaimo, BC, V9T 2N9.
The hall will be locked overnight on Friday 21st (set-up) & Saturday 22nd, so artists’ displays will be kept secure.
In addition, there will be a bake sale and refreshments area serving tea and coffee. Separate men’s & women’s toilet facilities are accessed from the hall. There is a large parking lot providing free parking on the west or left-hand side of the building and with easy loading & unloading access to the hall. There will be show signage directing both visitors and artists.
Following Government guidelines, Covid precautions will be in place for the safety of both artists & visitors.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR SUBMITTING ARTISTS
Artist Applications open: Monday May 16th 2022.
Artist Applications close: Monday August 1st 2022.
For accepted artists, an entrance fee of $75 due prior to September 1st.
All artists will be notified of the results by email or phone as soon as possible after the closing date.
Artist set-up date: Friday 21st October, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. (Please state preference).
Day 1 of Show: Saturday 22nd October, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Day 2 of Show: Sunday 23rd October, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Take-down: Sunday 23rd October, 4:00 pm.
