Artist Bio:

My paintings are influenced by the light & movement within a scene before me. These scenes are memories of travelling with family & friends.

I've painted for years, taking many workshops arranged mostly by the Nanaimo Federation of Canadian Artists, of which I am an Exibiting Member.

Three years ago, I enrolled as a Life Member in the Acrylic University. I am also a member of the Ladysmith Gallery

Artist Statement:

I commune with nature as I paint. My excitement comes from designing a shaft of light coming through the trees, a wave breaking on a rock, any kind of movement before me while I walk. boat, or ski into a scene. Every brushstroke

I make is part of an overall design/story.

I want you to connect with the experience I've had.

As I'm anticipating to start to paint, I think about sharing my adventure in my mind. I use a limited palette painting on canvas or birch cradle board. My medium of choice is acrylic. This allows me the freedom to share my visions.

The most exciting moment for me is when a viewer describes what they have experienced when they look at my painting & it matches mine.
