Artist Bio:

I grew up in New Jersey moved west and earned my BA in Arts & Crafts & Their History from University of California Santa Cruz. I have lived on and around Vancouver Island for more than 45 years, including Hornby and Quadra Islands, and now, Campbell River. The island's scenery inspires my art, which reflects the beauty of my surroundings.

I spent 15 years as a potter before focusing on painting for about 30 years, studying and painting with many artists, especially Linda Richichi, her mentor for the last 5 years.

I paint with the Campbell River Plein Air Painters and am a member of the Campbell River Arts Council. I am now teaching pastel classes in Campbell River and the Comox Valley.

I am an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (and the Arrowsmith and Nanaimo chapters), a member of the Pastel Artists of the West Coast and hold signature status with the Pastel Artists of Canada.

Artist Statement:

I love nature and colour, painting outside with others, but also working on my own in the studio. I have to create, and feel most myself when allowed to take my time in the zone.

My paintings reflect my interest in shape, composition, and colour!
